Caller (in a a distinctive,rich, male, Island accent): I haz me a lil' Doberman, and he's balls are hanging out!!
Me: Has your dog been injured?

Me: Sir, is your dog fixed?

Caller: No!

Me: Well, I'm sure his first erection would be a little startling, if not a bit uncomfortable. If you would like, I can have our doctor take a look at him for you, but from the sounds of things, he should be okay. If you would like, you can pour a little bit of sugar on his penis and it will help the swelling subside.

Caller: Is white or brown sugar better?

Me: Well, I don't think there is a difference. But I do that that brown sugar is sweeter...

Caller: Oh do you now?

Brand New Blogger!

This is a new adventure for me... I've been making some minor life adjustments recently that have really made major improvements in my life,and my career has always identified me.

So, in good humor and as a means to decompress the stress of my professional life, I will be posting here periodically. Mostly to share with readers the real life smiles, shocks, and sadness of working in an animal emergency center. Also, several veterinarians have very entertaining blogs, and yet, few technicians do.

I am a Certified Veterinary Technician, which means I have successively completed an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association accredited) veterinary technician program, with honors. I also completed 2 years of prerequisites, complete 15 hours of Continuing Education courses every two years, and am certified by my state's veterinary technician association. I also am a member of a few other organizations that promote my profession and special interests. I have been employed in the animal medical field, in one way or another, since 1996.

I'm kitten-crazy and often foster several little ones during the spring and summer months. I have a very satisfying, long-term relationship with my boyfriend, and share my home with a menagerie of interesting animals.
